Whey protein concentrate increased microbial community balance, while pea protein isolate and a plant-protein blend reduced fermentative bacteria. Rice protein isolate was linked to succinate-to-butyrate fermentation pathways.

Randomized, blinded 16-week trial comparing growth, tolerance, and plasma biochemistry in 65 healthy infants fed either a partially hydrolyzed rice protein-based formula or a standard cow's milk protein-based formula. No differences in growth or plasma biochemistry were observed, although the rice protein group had some differences in amino acid profiles.

An extensively hydrolysed rice protein-based formula in the management of infants with cow's milk protein allergy: preliminary results after 1 month.

A prospective trial evaluated the clinical tolerance of an extensively hydrolysed rice protein formula in 39 infants with cow's milk protein allergy over 1 month. All infants tolerated the formula and experienced normal growth, suggesting it as an adequate alternative to cow's milk-based formulas.
