Blood glucose rise following prenatal vitamins in gestational diabetes.

RCT involving nine women with gestational diabetes mellitus testing the glycemic response to six different prenatal vitamin-mineral preparations, a placebo, and a sucrose capsule. All prenatal vitamins resulted in a rise in blood glucose greater than that seen with sucrose, suggesting the need for prenatal vitamins with a low relative glycemic index.
