Maternal age modulates the effects of early-pregnancy L-proline supplementation on the birth-weight of piglets.
The study evaluated the effects of short-term L-proline supplementation during early pregnancy on litter size and birth-weight of piglets in sows of different parities. Supplementation improved reproductive efficiency in high-prolific first-parity sows and second-parity sows, with higher birth-weights observed in supplemented animals.
Proline Spray Relieves the Adverse Effects of Drought on Wheat Flag Leaf Function
A barrel experiment was conducted to study the effects of exogenous proline on wheat under drought stress. Proline application improved osmotic-regulation substance content, chlorophyll content, antioxidant enzyme activity, water-holding capacity, and tissue structure of wheat flag leaves, alleviating drought stress impact and increasing yield by up to 52.88% under severe drought.
Fast-digestive protein supplement for ten days overcomes muscle anabolic resistance in healthy elderly men.
RCT investigating the effect of a 10-day protein diet with caseins or soluble milk proteins on muscle protein synthesis in 31 healthy elderly men. Soluble milk proteins improved postprandial muscle protein synthesis, particularly mitochondrial muscle proteins and myosin fractional synthesis rates.
Safety and efficacy of Privigen, a novel 10% liquid immunoglobulin preparation for intravenous use, in patients with primary immunodeficiencies.
RCT evaluating the efficacy and safety of Privigen, a 10% liquid formulation of intravenous immunoglobulin stabilized with L-proline, in 80 patients with primary immunodeficiency. The study found an annual rate of 0.08 for acute serious bacterial infections and 3.55 for all infections, with Privigen being well tolerated and effective.
Salinity Stress Alleviation by Foliar Bio-Stimulant, Proline and Potassium Nutrition Promotes Growth and Yield Quality of Garlic Plant
Field experiment investigated the effect of foliar spray with plant-based biostimulant, proline, and potassium fertilizers on garlic growth under saline soil. The combination of yeast extract, proline, and potassium improved vegetative growth, mineral content, and yield quality of garlic.
