Immunomodulatory effect of Tinospora cordifolia extract in human immuno-deficiency virus positive patients

RCTn = 68Immunity

RCT assessing the safety and efficacy of Tinospora cordifolia extract (TCE) in 68 HIV positive patients over six months. TCE treatment significantly reduced eosinophil count and hemoglobin percentage, with 60% of patients reporting decreased symptoms. Common complaints included anorexia, nausea, vomiting, and weakness. TCE may serve as an adjunct in HIV/AIDS management.

Moderate alcohol consumption in chronic form enhances the synthesis of cholesterol and C-21 steroid hormones, while treatment with Tinospora cordifolia modulate these events in men.

RCTn = 26Hormone Health

The study investigated the impact of chronic and moderate alcohol intake on cholesterol homeostasis and steroid hormone synthesis in men, and the effects of Tinospora cordifolia (TCJ) on these parameters. Alcohol intake increased cholesterol synthesis and altered steroid hormone levels, decreasing testosterone and androstenedione synthesis. TCJ intervention normalized steroid levels and improved the testosterone to androstenedione ratio.
