Antiedema effects of Siberian ginseng in humans and its molecular mechanism of lymphatic vascular function in vitro.

RCTn = 50

The study investigates the antiedema effects of Siberian ginseng in humans and its molecular mechanism on lymphatic vascular function in vitro. In a randomized crossover study with 50 healthy female volunteers, Siberian ginseng significantly attenuated edema of the lower limbs. In vitro, it induced phosphorylation of Tie2 in lymphatic endothelial cells, promoting lymphatic function.

No benefit adding eleutherococcus senticosus to stress management training in stress-related fatigue/weakness, impaired work or concentration, a randomized controlled study.

RCTn = 144Stress -Mental Clarity -Mood -

RCT of 144 participants with stress-related fatigue and reduced working capacity, comparing Eleutherococcus senticosus root extract, stress management training, and their combination. No significant benefit was found from adding Eleutherococcus senticosus to stress management training. All treatments were well tolerated.

[Effect of Acanthopanax senticosus injection on the activities of human tumor necrosis factor and natural killer cell in blood in the patients with lung cancer].

RCTn = 73Immunity

RCT of 73 lung cancer patients studying the effect of Acanthopanax senticosus injection on TNF and NK cell activities. ASI increased TNF-beta activity and levels of IgA, IgG, and IgM, and enhanced NK cell activity, suggesting a positive effect on cellular immunity.

The effects of Eleutherococcus senticosus and Panax ginseng on steroidal hormone indices of stress and lymphocyte subset numbers in endurance athletes.

RCTStress

Clinical trial investigating the effects of Eleutherococcus senticosus (ES) and Panax ginseng (PG) on steroidal hormone indices and lymphocyte subsets in endurance athletes. ES supplementation decreased the testosterone to cortisol ratio by 28.7%, suggesting increased hormonal indices of stress, while PG showed no significant changes.

The influence of active components of Eleutherococcus senticosus on cellular defence and physical fitness in man.

RCTn = 50Physical Performance Immunity

RCT studying the effects of Eleutherococcus senticosus (Taiga Wurzel) on cellular defence and physical fitness in 50 healthy volunteers. Group A receiving Taiga Wurzel showed changes in blood parameters and a higher oxygen plateau, indicating positive effects on physical performance and immunity.

The effect of eight weeks of supplementation with Eleutherococcus senticosus on endurance capacity and metabolism in human.

RCTn = 9Physical Performance Heart Health

Double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled crossover study of 9 recreationally trained males examining the effects of 8-week Eleutherococcus senticosus supplementation. Results showed a 12% increase in VO2 peak, 23% improvement in endurance time, and a 4% increase in maximal heart rate. Plasma free fatty acid production increased and glucose levels decreased significantly during exercise.

Effects of Siberian ginseng (Eleutherococcus senticosus maxim.) on elderly quality of life: a randomized clinical trial.

RCTn = 20Mental Clarity

RCT of 20 elderly hypertensive volunteers testing 300 mg/day of Siberian ginseng (Eleutherococcus senticosus) versus placebo for 8 weeks. Higher scores in social functioning were observed after 4 weeks in the ginseng group, but differences did not persist at 8 weeks. No adverse events were reported.

Siberian ginseng (Eleutheroccus senticosus) effects on CYP2D6 and CYP3A4 activity in normal volunteers.

RCTn = 12

The study assessed the influence of Siberian ginseng on CYP2D6 and CYP3A4 activity in 12 normal volunteers. No significant differences were found in dextromethorphan metabolic ratios or alprazolam pharmacokinetic parameters, indicating that Siberian ginseng does not significantly affect CYP2D6 or CYP3A4 activity.
