Evaluation ofsupplementation of 2660 mg D-aspartic acid and 200 mg ubiquinol and 10 mg zinc on different semen parameters in idiopathic male infertility: a randomized double blind placebo controlled study.
RCT evaluating the supplementation of 2660 mg D-aspartic acid, 200 mg ubiquinol, and 10 mg zinc on semen parameters and serum testosterone levels in 75 infertile males. The treatment group showed significant improvement in progressive sperm motility and a significant increase in total testosterone levels after 3 months.
D-Aspartate-Induced Fructose Elevation and Its Impact on Sperm Motility: A Systematic Review
This systematic review evaluates the role of D-aspartate in enhancing sperm motility through fructose elevation in seminal plasma. Oral sodium D-aspartate supplementation improved sperm concentration and motility in sub-fertile men, leading to increased pregnancy rates in their partners without harmful side effects.
Aspartic Acid in Health and Disease
The paper reviews the roles of L- and D-aspartic acid in health and disease, including their synthesis, metabolism, and potential therapeutic applications. It discusses L-Asp's involvement in protein and nucleotide synthesis, gluconeogenesis, and neurotransmission, as well as D-Asp's role in brain development and hypothalamus regulation. The paper highlights the need for further research on L-Asp metabolism in cancer treatment and the therapeutic potential of D-Asp in psychiatric and neurologic disorders.
D-Aspartic Acid in Vertebrate Reproduction: Animal Models and Experimental Designs
This narrative review examines the role of D-aspartic acid (D-Asp) in vertebrate reproduction, highlighting its effects on hormone production and gametogenesis in animal models. The review discusses the molecular pathways activated by D-Asp, particularly in testosterone biosynthesis, and its potential therapeutic applications in andrology and procreation techniques.
