Effects of Chios Mastiha essential oil on cholesterol levels of healthy volunteers: A prospective, randomized, placebo-controlled study (MASTIHA-OIL).

A prospective, randomized, placebo-controlled study evaluated the hypolipidemic effect of Chios Mastiha essential oil (CMO) capsules on 160 healthy volunteers with elevated cholesterol. After 8 weeks, the CMO group showed significant reductions in total and LDL cholesterol compared to placebo, with no reported adverse events.

Double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial exploring the minimal effective dose of cis-9-cetylmyristoleate (CMO) for knee joint pain relief. Significant improvements in pain score and WOMAC score were observed in groups receiving 100% and 62.4% fatty acid component with 12.5% CMO compared to placebo.
