Comparative Effectiveness of Nutritional Supplements in the Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis: A Network Meta-Analysis.
Network meta-analysis of 39 RCTs with 4599 patients comparing the effectiveness and safety of seven nutritional supplements for knee osteoarthritis. Boswellia showed significant improvements in WOMAC pain, stiffness, function, and VAS pain compared to placebo. Curcumin, collagen, ginger, and krill oil also demonstrated benefits in some outcomes. No supplement was associated with increased adverse events.

This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated the efficacy of Boswellia extracts in treating knee osteoarthritis. Although the meta-analysis did not detect a significant effect due to high heterogeneity, subgroup analysis showed a significant beneficial effect of Boswellia extracts compared to placebo in reducing WOMAC scores.
