Co-administration of methyl donors along with guanidinoacetic acid reduces the incidence of hyperhomocysteinaemia compared with guanidinoacetic acid administration alone.
RCTn = 20Nutrition ↕
RCT with 20 volunteers comparing guanidinoacetic acid (GAA) alone versus GAA with methyl donors. Both groups showed significant increases in serum and urine creatine. Hyperhomocysteinaemia occurred in 55.6% of the GAA group but was prevented in the GAA with methyl donors group.

Gastric reacidification with betaine HCl in healthy volunteers with rabeprazole-induced hypochlorhydria.
RCTn = 6
Pilot study evaluating gastric reacidification with betaine HCl in healthy volunteers with rabeprazole-induced hypochlorhydria. Betaine HCl significantly lowered gastric pH, with a rapid onset and temporary effect, suggesting potential to aid absorption of weakly basic drugs under hypochlorhydric conditions.
